The Institute of Political Science at the Faculty of Humanities invites applications for the following position of salary scale W3 NBesO starting as soon as possible: University Professorship in International Relations, especially European Politics.

The Position

The Professorship strengthens the research of the Institute of Political Science with internationally visible contributions to core questions of European politics. The Professorship furthers the development and the success of the Institute of Political Science and the Philosophical Faculty by acquiring competitive third-party funding, as well as by contributing to collaborative research efforts of the Institute and the Faculty.

In academic teaching, the Professorship ensures a contemporary and high-quality training of students. Additionally, the Professorship assists in the ongoing reforms of the study programs at the Institute of Political Science, as well as plans to implement a structured graduate training.

Your Profile

  • Political Scientist;
  • Research focus on European Union, European politics, or European integration;
  • Research approach theory-driven and empirical in nature;
  • Experienced in the application of quantitative methods;
  • Established track record of publications in SSCI journals and/or peer-reviewed monographs;
  • Successful applications for competitive external research funding, ideally also with regard to collaborative funding;
  • Ability to co-operate with the existing research at the Institute and the Faculty;
  • Excellent teaching evaluations and ability to teach in English;
  • International co-operations and experiences.
