Daniel Stockemer - Canada - Appointed as New Editor for International Political Science Review

Prof. Daniel Stockemer took up the position of Editor of International Political Science Review (IPSR) on July 1, 2019. Prof. Marian Sawer will complete her seven year term as IPSR Editor in December 2019.

Daniel Stockemer is Full Professor of Comparative Politics in the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. His interests lie in the areas of political participation, political representation, populism, as well as quantitative and qualitative methods. He finished his doctoral dissertation in 2010 and he has published 3 single authored books, 1 edited volume, 1 textbook and more than 100 peer reviewed articles.

Prof. Stockemer believes in service to the discipline and already has extensive experience as editor of European Political Science (since 2014). He hopes that this experience combined with his passion for the field will allow him to positively shape the International Political Science Review and he is very excited about this opportunity.

Marian Sawer has led the transformation of IPSR in recent years, making it a definitive home for excellent and innovative scholarship in political science. Her term was marked by a number of important developments which include the introduction of thematic special issues, thematic symposia, meta-analysis articles and an expansion in the page budget. The journal impact factor, and all other metrics, have increased sharply, capturing the quality of the scholarship and the increased global footprint of the journal.
