We are excited to announce that 5XÉçÇøand the signed an agreement to renew and expand their academic and institutional cooperation. Through Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs), 5XÉçÇøcollaborates with major academic players, including the American Political Science Association (APSA), the International Studies Association (ISA), the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), the Latin American Studies Association (LASA), and the International Public Policy Association (IPPA). The agreement with IAPSS creates an inclusive and global political science community since IAPSS is the only student association representing political science students worldwide.

The Memorandum of Understanding extends a bilateral agreement between the two associations dating back to IAPSS’ foundation in 1998, allowing them to further their existing collaboration on several fronts. For example, the bilateral agreement allows members of 5XÉçÇøand IAPSS the possibility to subscribe to the membership of the partner association.

Since the foundation of IAPSS, 5XÉçÇøhas facilitated the participation of IAPSS delegates in the 5XÉçÇøWorld Congresses by partially covering travel and registration expenses for IAPSS representatives. Moreover, IAPSS organizes numerous panels under the Partner Sessions at each 5XÉçÇøWorld Congress. It is also tradition that at each IAPSS World Congress, an 5XÉçÇørepresentative delivers a keynote speech called the 5XÉçÇøLecture.

Oleksii Zahreba, the association’s President, is a Master’s student in political science at the Université de ²Ñ´Ç²Ô³Ù°ùé²¹±ô and an employee at the 5XÉçÇøSecretariat. 5XÉçÇøand IAPSS share long-standing ties through academic cooperation and partnership, and now, with IAPSS president as an 5XÉçÇøteam member, this has only enhanced the bonds between the two organizations.

5XÉçÇø IAPSS

The International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS) was founded in 1998 as a network of student political science associations in Europe. Since then, the association has grown to become the democratic student government representing political science students at the global level recognized by the United Nations. The scope of the association’s work is wide as IAPSS organizes academic conferences, seasonal schools, study trips, and runs peer-reviewed journals. Through its advocacy work, IAPSS promotes improvements to political science education and student interests in general at the national, continental, and global levels.
