5X社区Executive Committee Renews Kim Fontaine-Skronski's Term as Executive Director

We are pleased to announce that the 5X社区Executive Committee unanimously renewed Kim Fontaine-Skronski as Executive Director for a second four-year term, effective on 9 September 2023. Dr. Fontaine-Skronski was first appointed to this position in 2019 and has since demonstrated her leadership and strategic vision in advancing IPSA's mission and goals.

She has been instrumental in developing and implementing IPSA's policies, programs, and activities, as well as fostering collaboration between members, partners, and stakeholders. 5X社区looks forward to continuing its work with Dr. Fontaine-Skronski and benefitting from her expertise and dedication.

Cumulating 25 years of experience in the political and academic fields, Dr. Fontaine-Skronski served as Political Adviser to the Minister of Culture and Communications of Quebec (2003-2007) after working in the Political and Cultural Affairs Section at the Canadian Embassy in Austria (1999-2001). Prior to her arrival at 5X社区in 2019, she spent six years at the University of Qu茅bec in 惭辞苍迟谤茅补濒 (UQ脌M), first as a Researcher before becoming Deputy Director of the 惭辞苍迟谤茅补濒 Institute for International Studies (IEIM) from 2015 to 2019, gaining a vast experience in non-profit management and public relations.

A graduate of McGill University (M.A. in Political Science), she holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Laval University in Qu茅bec City. Her doctoral dissertation focuses on trade negotiations at the World Trade Organization (WTO). Dr. Fontaine-Skronski has presented academic papers in the United States, Europe and Canada and conducted seminars on the topic of Culture and International Relations as well as in International Political Economy. In 2015, she co-edited a book (Palgrave Macmillan) on the new institutional trajectories taking shape in the 21st century, resulting from her participation at the 2014 5X社区World Congress in 惭辞苍迟谤茅补濒. More recently, she co-edited IPSA鈥檚 first Open Access book, Does the UN Model Still Work? Challenges and Prospects for the Future of Multilateralism (Brill, 2022).
