5Xand Concordia University Renew their Five-Year Agreement

The International Political Science Association (IPSA) and Concordia University signed their 4th Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Feb 3, 2020, to extend their collaboration until 2025. Founded in 1949 under the auspices of UNESCO, IPSA’s mission is to support the development of political science in all parts of the world. 

The signing ceremony was held at Concordia University’s John Molson Building in the presence of Concordia President Graham Carr, 5XPresident Marianne Kneuer, Head of Partnerships and International Donors at the Minister of International Relations and Francophonie in Québec Patrice Bachand, representatives of the City of ѴDzԳٰé and members of various international organizations and other key actors committed to developing ѴDzԳٰé’s international influence. 

Concordia President Graham Carr welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of internationalism and diversity for Concordia University by linking the long-standing relationship between Concordia and 5Xsince 2006: “5Xis a wonderful example of Concordia’s commitment to addressing major global policy questions of our time. It is through partnering with leading international organizations like 5Xthat we deepen our engagement with the world.”

5XPresident Prof. Marianne Kneuer is thrilled about this renewed collaboration: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Concordia. This new agreement reinforces our excellent relationship with the University. We are looking forward to the next five years, during which we will conduct structuring joint-projects, such as the upcoming IPSA-Concordia Summer School on Applied Diplomacy taking place in June 2020.” Prof. Kneuer also thanked Concordia University, the Government of Québec and ѴDzԳٰé International for their constant support since the establishment of the 5XSecretariat in ѴDzԳٰé in 2006.

Finally, Head of Partnerships and International Donors at the Minister of International Relations and Francophonie in Québec Patrice Bachand declared he is very proud of the relationship between 5Xand Concordia since it’s an exemplary and valuable model of internationalism. Mr. Bachand also detailed Government of Québec’s new policy to support and attract international organizations in order to contribute to sustainable development and the creation of a greener economy in Québec. 

The signing ceremony was followed by a cocktail reception.
