We are pleased to announce that the revised procedures and timelines for the 26th 5XÉçÇøWorld Congress to be held in Lisbon, 10-14 July 2021, are now available on the .

The main theme of the Congress remains New Nationalisms in an Open World and all accepted panels and papers will be maintained in what is an outstanding Congress Program. Participants who will not attend the 2021 Congress, must cancel their participation by 15 October 2020.

Registered Participants

If you have already registered to the 2020 World Congress, your registration will be carried forward to 2021 along with any role(s) you may have in the program. 

To express our appreciation for your ongoing support and participation, we are pleased to offer a complimentary one-year 5XÉçÇømembership to all 5XÉçÇømembers who maintain their registration. Your bonus year will be added to your current 5XÉçÇømembership after 15 October 2020.

If you decide to cancel your participation, please do so by emailing us at wc2021@ipsa.org before 15 October 2020. Please check our on the Congress website. 

World Congress Registration Reopens on 20 May 2020

You may proceed to as of 20 May 2020. Please note that all Congress participants must be individual members of IPSA to register for the World Congress.

If you register for the 5XÉçÇøWorld Congress 2021 by 15 October 2020, you will receive a bonus one-year 5XÉçÇømembership. This bonus year will come into effect after the expiration date of your current 5XÉçÇømembership. If you are currently not an 5XÉçÇømember, you will need to become one before benefiting from the bonus year of membership.

Updated Documents for Participants Available as of 20 May 2020

Starting 20 May 2020, Congress related documents will be available to participants by logging into their 5XÉçÇøonline at in [My Congress] user menu.

Additional Call for Proposals: 1 September - 20 October 2020

To give the opportunity to new participants to attend the 2021 Congress, an additional Call for Proposals will be open from 1 September to 20 October 2020.
